Azerbaijan has pardoned Ramil Safarov
, an army lieutenant convicted in the 2004 ax murder of Armenian soldier Gurgen Margarian, while both were in Hungary for a language course in 2004 organized by NATO. Safarov had been jailed for life in Hungary, but he was handed over to Azerbaijan last week and given a hero's welcome.
