The jury awarded "Best of RFE/RL" status to two innovative projects from the Armenian and Azerbaijani Services.
Natiq Zeynalov and Etibar Rasulov of the Azerbaijani Service created an interactive infographic project showing the scale of the Azerbaijani government's involvement in sports. This is, of course, a team effort that includes the involvement of the Azerbaijani Service's Baku-based investigative team.
The Armenian Service, meanwhile, submitted a 30-minute video documentary about the Armenian poet Vahan Teryan. The docudrama, entitled "The Last Journey," is a very successful mixture of documentary material and dramatic shots using professional actors. This is the first time that such a project has been attempted by RFE/RL journalists. The documentary has been accepted by Armenia's Education Ministry for use as a teaching aide and will be shown in Armenian schools.
