Two Radio Farda Shows Are Finalists At New York Festivals


Farshid Manafi took home two silver awards at the 2011 New York Festivals for his satirical show "Pas Farda."
Radio Farda, RFE/RL’s Iran Service, has been named a finalist for two awards in the New York Festivals International Radio Programs and Promos Awards, an annual competition which honors excellence in radio programming and promotions in all lengths and formats from radio stations, networks and independent producers from around the globe.

Vashid Pour Ostad’s “Solitary Confinement,” a series about Iranian political prisoners, has been named a finalist in the category of “Best Investigative Report.”

Farshid Manafi, moderator of Radio Farda's satirical program "Pas Farda,” was nominated for “Best Comedy/Humor Personality: Local Market.”

In the current phase of the judging process, the finalists' work may be promoted to a Gold, Silver or Bronze trophy level. If our entries do not achieve trophy status, they will remain finalists and will receive a finalist certificate. Medal winners will be notified in late May.

Manafi won two silver medals at the 2011 New York Festivals for Pas Farda in the categories of "Best Regularly Scheduled Talk Program" and "Best Announcer Presentation."
