The US Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) has renewed demands for the release of Alhurra correspondent Bashar Fahmi and cameraman Cüneyt Ünal after a recent photo of Ünal surfaced over the weekend.
The Turkish humanitarian organization IHH obtained the photo, dated Oct. 24, and posted it online on Saturday.
Fahmi and Ünal went missing on August 20 while covering fighting in Aleppo. A YouTube video released by the Syrian Free Army on that day suggests they were captured by Syrian forces.
