In its report issued this week on attacks against independent media in Kyrgyzstan, Reporters Without Borders wonders how far the government will go. The Paris-based media watchdog writes about the current wave of harassment against the news media, viewing it as the latest indication that, far from the original promise of the Tulip Revolution, "Kyrgyzstan is falling into line with its autocratic central Asian neighbours."
