Two journalists from RFE/RL's Armenian Service have been recognized by leading nongovernmental organizations for their reporting on immigration in Armenia.

In an award ceremony sponsored by People in Need, the UN Armenian Association, and the International Migration Service of Armenia, RFE/RL correspondent Naira Bulghadarian won first prize in the "Best Radio Report" category for her report on Armenians living abroad illegally. Her colleague, Karine Simonian, took second place in the "Best Radio Report" category, and third place in the running for "Best TV Report."

The competition was held on December 18 in the Armenian capital of Yerevan, and coincided with the International Day of Migration. This year 18 reports were judged in three categories: "Best Radio Report," "Best Article," and "Best TV Report." The UN Armenian Association organized the contest within the framework of a migration management project implemented in Armenia.
