One Minute With Niusha Boghrati
Niusha Boghrati is Editor in Chief of Radio Farda, RFE/RL's Persian language service. He began working as a journalist in Iran when he was 19, and covered issues related to politics, culture, society, and international affairs for a number of foreign new outlets before joining RFE/RL in 2005. Despite the challenges of Iran's ban on social media as well as RFE/RL being banned from having a correspondent in the country, Radio Farda's coverage of the widespread protests, which since December 28, 2017, have claimed over 20 lives, has attracted over 5 million visits and 10 million page views from people eager to access censored information. Preserving the safety of those inside Iran who take grave risks to share information with Radio Farda is a crucial challenge, adds Boghrati.
