To mark 50 years to the day since the Soviet-led Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia, RFE/RL, Current Time and KineDoc hosted the premiere screening of the film Occupation 1968.
The film is an exploration of “occupation as the occupants see it.” 5 countries of the Warsaw Pact occupied Czechoslovakia in 1968. 50 years later, 5 directors from these countries each made a short film about the invasion from the point of view of the people who took part in it.
Deputy Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic Jakub Durr provided opening remarks.
The screening followed concerts by Monika Naceva, DJ Tentato and DJ Five.
