Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) colleagues picked up the pace at the 2018 Teribear charity run in Prague, running and walking more than 1,200 km over the course of ten days from September 6-15 to raise money for disadvantaged children in the Czech Republic.
RFE/RL finished in 52nd place out of 600 teams, raising a total of 38,000 Kc (1,742 USD) and surpassing their 2017 distance by 400 km.
“I ran more than 100 km over 7 days and collected 3,000 Kc (140 USD) for charity while getting to know colleagues better--what could be better than this?” said Koba Liklikadze, a journalist for RFE/RL’s Georgian Service.

In its ninth year, the event drew over ten thousand runners and walkers from all corners of Prague to the city’s famous Vitkov hill, where sponsors donated 30 Kc (1.40 USD) for each loop of the 1.5 km track completed.
The Teribear charity run is organized by Czech model Tereza Maxova’s Foundation in aid of underprivileged children in the Czech Republic. Altogether this year’s Teribear participants covered 320,812,50 km and raised over 9 million Kc (413,000 USD) for projects supporting families and children. Initiatives focus on reuniting children in institutional care with their families, helping children who are placed in care, and supporting single mothers in need.
