We are looking for a Senior Digital Video Producer to be responsible for identifying and producing social media and share-worthy video content and will act as a point of contact on social media video production. You will lead a team of several video producers and will be responsible for the quality of the content produced for social media.

Together with Social Media Editors you will pick up trending videos on social media, adapt stories from correspondents and create exclusive videos within existing editorial workflow. Senior Digital Video Producer reports to Chief Digital Editor and will be planning proper work of other video producers and define their daily priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the team of social media video producers.
  • Oversees the quality of content produced for social media.
  • Produces video content specifically geared for social media use across platforms.
  •  Uses journalistic acumen to find stories that are both likely to be shared and meet RFE/RL standards.
  • Implements new formats, templates, and approaches in video production across platforms.
  • Works on adaptation of the video content from other team within Service.
  •  Works closely with other language Services across RFE/RL to share content and ideas, and to promote original RFE/RL content across social media.
  •  Advises Social Media Editors on planning for social and digital coverage.
  •  Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  •  Higher education or certificate in video production, or related field or the equivalent in experience is preferred.

Work Experience:

  • 3+ years working in comparable video production role in a media company.

Competencies:

  • Strong news judgment is required. Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite 6 (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut, Photoshop) and iMovie.
  • Proven ability to communicate and create multimedia products in a style that attracts audiences through social media.
  • Creative mind and storytelling skills with proven ability to enterprise and innovate to create new ways to tell high-impact stories on a variety of multimedia platforms.
  • Broad knowledge of political, economic, and social situations in the broadcast area as well as international affairs acquired through studies, research, writing, travel, or other relevant experience or exposure
  • Adapts to and works effectively within a variety of situations, and with various individuals or groups. Flexibility entails understanding and appreciating different and opposing perspectives on an issue, adapting one’s approach as the requirements of a situation change, and changing or easily accepting changes in one’ s own organization or job requirements.,
  • Excellent leadership, teamwork, and the ability to multitask and prioritize with little supervision. Desire to educate colleagues and to share best practices across the team. Ability to work under deadline pressure and to use images and sound to achieve the producer's vision.

Languages:

  • Proficiency in Ukrainian and English languages.
