As authoritarian governments around the world crack down on a free press and spread disinformation, RFE/RL’s mission – independent media in places where this is banned by the government or not yet established – is more critical than ever. Working to help us operate our new bureau in Riga is vital to its future and the ability to spread unbiased news where needed.




Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager and closely partnering with HR manager and hiring managers, you will participate in facilitating the company’s recruitment process as well as assists the TA Manager with employer branding initiatives. Verbal and written Russian and English language fluency is a “must” for you to be able to support both the recruitment process and the employer branding initiatives.




  • Assist with full recruitment lifecycle including publishing job postings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks
  • Identify sourcing options most applicable to each respective search, such as job boards, associations, social media, etc.
  • Work with Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and dedicated shared drives (when applicable) to maintain accurate search documentation
  • Conduct initial phone screens to evaluate candidates against set criteria before testing, if applicable, and interviewing them
  • Schedule candidates for testing & interviews and follow up with them during whole recruitment process
  • Keep hiring manager and responsible HR colleagues updated on progress
  • Ensure a positive interview experience for all candidates while acting as RFE/RL brand ambassador for our mission
  • Learn, develop, and gain unique working experience




  • Passion for recruitment and RFE/RL mission
  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field or an equivalent combination of education.
  • 3+ years of work experience with full recruitment cycle using various interview techniques and evaluation methods
  • Latvian language proficient level, English and Russian language advanced level - verbal & written
  • Familiarity with standard hiring practices, such as scheduling interviews and onboarding processes.
  • Familiarity with social media, resume databases, professional networks
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to take initiative and identify solutions to problems
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Salaries for employees in RFE/RL's broadcast regions are competitive, based on prevailing local conditions. Employee benefits in RFE/RL's broadcast regions are in accordance with the local labor law specific to the country.
