About the Service

Europa Liberă was relaunched in January 2019, after it was initially closed in 2008 after 58 years of service.

The Service provides accurate and balanced coverage of the key national and global news and is paying the utmost attention to civil society’s call for action toward good governance and more efficient public policies.

Entirely digital, Europa Liberă operates out of a bureau in Bucharest, with reporting available through its website and on social media platforms.

Europa Liberă has a distinguished reputation, built over decades and culminating in its coverage of the 1989 Revolution.

More recently, the Service has found success through the investigative efforts of a young and dynamic team.
